About us
Owton Manor West Neighbourhood Watch and Residents Association was formed on the
27th October 2002. Over the past 3 years the organisation has provided a wide range of services to the surrounding community and now serves an area which encompasses the E, F, and D blocks of the Owton Manor Estate.

Added to this area are houses Catcote road Brierton Lane and Wynyard road forming the perimeter of the association’s catchment area. The work of the association over the past 3 years can be summarised in the words of it’s Chairperson.

Owton Manor West Neighbourhood Watch and Residents Association is a voluntary group managed entirely by volunteers from the Owton Manor estate in Hartlepool. The association was set up during October 2002 in order to combat the growing concerns and problems that existed in the area at that time.

During the past 3 years the association have continued to play a key role in the delivery of many initiatives and activities designed to benefit families living in the Owton Manor West area. The Association has continued to work across all sectors and in particular with a wide range of educational providers including the
Local Authorities Adult Educational Department in order to ensure the provision of Lifelong Learning opportunities for members of our community. We have instigated programmes and activities tailored to meet the needs and aspirations of all sections of the community, and have succeeded in attracting significant resources to the area which have enabled us to address the social, educational and welfare needs of the community”.

AIMS OF THE ASSOCIATION

• To increase participation by local residents in activities and initiatives which are of benefit to the community.
• To facilitate, initiate and participate in activities which seek to address the educational, social, health and economic needs of the community.
• To work in partnership with other groups, agencies, individuals or organisations across all sectors in order to further the aims of the association.
• To work to raise awareness of issues which affect the local community.
• To work towards ensuring equality of opportunity for all.

INTRODUCTION AND CONTEXT
This strategy is the vision of the management, staff and volunteers of Owton Manor West Neighbourhood Watch & Residents Association and takes into account the needs and wishes of the wider community.
Measures outlined in the document are intended to form the basis of the work, which will be carried out by the association during the next three years. This document will also provide a yardstick through which we can measure progress against set objectives and which will also form the basis of the associations annual reviews.
